Hollow wall shelves and custom seat in MDF, by Karin

Karin has made very beautiful and functional hollow wall shelves using miter sawn MDF. By attaching slats to the wall, these hollow wall shelves slide into place.

I built in three IKEA pax cabinets and created a wall-filling piece of furniture by adding a seat and adding bookshelves. There is also electricity in the cupboard for charging phones etc.

How I made this project

I hung the doors of the cupboards a little higher, so that the skirting board fits in front of them . I closed the part between the cupboard and the ceiling with slats from the hardware store. I used the wood sawn to size for the hollow wall shelves and the seat. I made the hollow wall shelves by putting together mitered planks. I painted all the shelves and the seat the same color as the wall.
