Order Plywood Poplar film Durapaint cut-to-size boards online

Order your cut-to-size Plywood Poplar film Durapaint easily online. Plywood can be cut or milled to size in various shapes. The most popular shape here is a rectangle, but we also mill circles, ovals, hexagons or even parallelograms to size for you. Do you want a neat finish for your DIY project? Then choose one of the available (edge) finishes.

Plywood Poplar film Durapaint: wat is dat?

Plywood consists of several layers of wood veneer. These layers are glued together crosswise, making the board very strong and barely warpable. These are therefore directly the advantages of plywood compared to solid wood, which is why it is often used in constructions. Due to the layers, the end edges of plywood are beautiful to look at and are often kept in sight. Plywood is made from solid wood, it therefore has properties that solid wood can also have. Long boards may therefore have a slight curvature and there may be colour differences between individual boards.

Poplar

Poplar wood is a widely used wood species known for its lightness, soft texture and easy machinability. Poplar wood has specific characteristics both technically and visually.

Technical structure: Poplar wood belongs to the hardwood category, although it is relatively soft compared to other hardwoods. The wood has medium to low density, which means it is lightweight. This makes it easy to handle and work with both hand tools and machine operations.

The wood has a fine grain and an even texture. The fibres of poplar wood are straight and evenly distributed. It has a relatively low content of natural oils and resins, making it easy to glue, nail and screw. It also finishes well with stain, paint and varnish.

It is important to note that poplar wood is not naturally very durable and can be prone to fungal and insect attack. To improve durability, the wood can be treated with suitable wood preservatives.

Lacquer-carrying film top layer

Plywood Poplar film Durapaint, the name says it all, is finished with a thin lacquer-carrying film layer that acts as a primer. So it is actually a primer! Because the finish is very smooth, only light sanding is required. Degreasing the material is more important. It is a practical and efficient choice when you want to complete your project quickly and cost-effectively. However, bear in mind that the edges are not finished and still need extra attention.

In principle, board material with a paint-carrying film layer can be painted directly. It is suitable for all paints: acrylic (water-based) and alkyd (turpentine-based). Do you want to enjoy your paintwork for longer or will the surface be used intensively? Then first apply a primer coat before applying the final paint layer.

Visibility quality BB/BB

The quality of plywood surface layers is indicated by letter combinations and refers to the visual assessment of plywood wood. There is a letter designation for the visible side (top) and one for the reverse side (bottom). It refers to the quality of the deck veneer, the quality of the gluing, for example, is indicated differently. Read here more about all view qualities.

This board material has the visible side BB/BB. This means that both top layers have the same visible side. A plywood panel rated BB/BB has generally a better visual quality than panels with lower ratings. The wood usually has a smooth and even surface with minimal imperfections. Colour variations, knots, repairs and other irregularities are rare and kept to a minimum.

Because of its high visual quality, plywood with BB/BB sight grade is often used in applications where aesthetics play an important role. It is used for furniture, cabinets, interior finishing, decorative projects and other applications where the wood surface is visible.

It is important to note that visibility quality may vary depending on local standards and specifications. It is advisable to consult the specific ratings and standards of the manufacturer or supplier when buying plywood to ensure that the wood meets the requirements for the intended application.

In general, plywood with BB/BB visible grade provides a high-quality and aesthetically pleasing surface for visible applications. It combines good visual quality with the inherent strength and durability of plywood.

Duraply

The panel is specially developed and protected to preserve the quality of both the wood and the bonding over the long term. An innovative treatment makes the panel exceptionally durable, even after sanding or machining. This panel can withstand moisture and can last 15 years if properly finished.

Available thicknesses of Plywood Poplar film Durapaint

Plywood Poplar film Durapaint} can be ordered in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process. This way, you can be sure that the sheet material meets your requirements: both the size and thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: .

Edit Plywood Poplar film Durapaint

Plywood Poplar film Durapaint is a relatively soft sheet material type within the plywood family. It is easy to work with both hand tools and machine tools. Make sure you have sharp tools to minimise splintering. For drilling holes, we recommend a wood drill with a centring point. Pre-drilling is recommended, but not necessary.

Because of its light colour and neutral appearance, poplar wood is often used for painting and veneering, accepting paint or veneer finishes well. This board material can discolour over time, so finish it with a (clear) lacquer, stain or paint. This way, you accentuate the natural beauty of the wood. Use an edge sealer to finish the edges of plywood, this will prevent the lacquer or stain from soaking into the plywood, which can lead to the veneer layers coming loose.

Are you going to use Plywood Poplar film Durapaint? Then it is important to seal the edges with an edge sealer. To enjoy the project outdoors for a long time, this board material still needs protection against damp weather conditions.

Specific uses of Plywood Poplar film Durapaint

Because of its build, poplar wood is suitable for a wide range of applications, including furniture, interior finishes, cabinets, veneers and wooden toys. It is a cost-effective choice for projects where lightness and easy machinability are important, and where a light, neutral appearance is desired. Plywood Poplar film Durapaint is specially glued and machined making it widely applicable both indoors and outdoors. It is very suitable for projects such as meubilaur, but also think of dormers, facade cladding, table tops, outdoor furniture and worktops.

Processing instructions

Plywood Poplar film Durapaint is ideally suited for outdoor applications, and even underground! However, the latter does require extra finishing attention.
